Dr. Heather Ankerbrand, organ

Heather Ankerbrand serves as Director of Music/Organist at Front Royal Presbyterian Church where she directs vocal and handbell choirs and plays the organ for weekly services. She is also an adjunct instructor at Lord Fairfax Community College.

Heather holds a DMA in Organ Performance from Shenandoah University, an MM in Church Music also from SU, and a BM in Piano with a second major in Religion from Grove City College.

Additionally, she holds the Colleague certificate from the American Guild of Organists. She is the immediate past Dean of the Winchester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Heather is active as an accompanist and teacher in the area. In addition to more conventional keyboard instruments Heather has minimal experience with the carillon.

Heather has served as a volunteer with Kairos Prison Ministry at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women in Troy, Va. In this role, she has served at table and as Music Director. In her nearly nonexistent free time, she enjoys reading and knitting.
